      #GIVINGTUESDAY

      December 1, 2020

      What is GivingTuesday?

GivingTuesday is a global movement dedicated to giving back, around the world, across Canada, and within our local communities. GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities. Join us and millions of other people to rally for this important cause and make a difference in the lives of others.

This GivingTuesday, help build capacity in kids’ mental health and reduce the wait times for kids and their families. Together, we can elevate services in kids’ mental health to serve kids now and into the future.

What impact can your donation have?

Across Canada, kids are stuck on waitlists for mental health services they desperately need – many will wait over a year. That’s a year of their life spent suffering through worsening symptoms and potentially life-threatening issues. For their families, that can be an agonizing year of helplessness and desperation.

This GivingTuesday, help give that year back to kids and their families. Together, we can make waitlists a thing of the past.

We worked with The George Hull Centre for Children and Families to identify that a high number of missed appointments and last-minute client cancellations were causing counselling time to go underutilized. In partnership with The Boston Consulting Group, we implemented an appointment-reminder solution to dramatically reduce no-shows and ensure that cancelled appointment slots will be used by other patients.

Following the completion of our appointment-reminder project, we used our findings to scale this solution to six other agencies. We are currently engaged and nearing implementation with Turning Point Youth Services, Children’s Aid Society of Toronto and SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health.

We’re co-creating a variety of solutions to a myriad of problems. Your contributions help fund the delivery of our resources in support of kids’ mental health agencies across the country.
