Where does the challenge take place?

The entire challenge will take place online. Students will raise money on Canada Helps and manage their portfolios on a IRESS trading platform.

When does registration take place?

Registration takes place from September 1st, 2017—September 31st, 2017

When do I select my portfolio and compete?

The Challenge takes place from October 1st, 2017—December 31st, 2017

How do I set up my portfolio?

After registering, you will be sent a link to set up your portfolio on IRESS.

Am I eligible to participate?

Any student who has been enrolled in a post-secondary institution for any amount of time between September 1st, 2017—December 31st, 2017 is eligible to participate.

Where do I sign up?

You can register on our website when registration opens in the Fall.

How much does it cost to register?

It is free to register and compete. To unlock prizing, participants are expected to raise a minimum of $100.

Where do the funds raised go?

All donations are made to the Capitalize for Kids Foundation. The funds raised from the Student Challenge will be directed to capacity building initiatives at Kid’s Help Phone.

Are tax receipts provided for those that donate?

Yes. Anyone who donates to you will receive a tax receipt from Capitalize for Kids Foundation, charitable business #15601760RR0001

What are the benefits of participating?

Participants of the challenge get access to amazing career development opportunities, prizes, and financial literacy educational content. To unlock the prizing and career development opportunities, participants must raise a minimum of $100.
