In 2017, Michael joined Breakwater Investments Inc., a newly-formed family office, and currently serves as Chief Investment Officer. In this role, he leads Breakwater’s capital deployment strategy across a range of public and private asset classes and industries. Prior to joining Breakwater, Michael worked for Deloitte Corporate Finance for six years where he was focused primarily on advising mid-market companies on M&A and capital raising matters. He has been a longtime supporter of Capitalize for Kids and was on the executive committee for the inaugural conference event in 2014. Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University, is a CFA Charterholder and has also obtained his CPA, CA designation.
Nick Bates joined Morgan Stanley in 2010 and is a Vice President in the Equity Sales Group. Based in Toronto, he covers a collection of hedge funds, pension funds and institutional asset managers across Canada. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Nick worked at Thomson Reuters in their Markets division. He attained his CFA designation in 2013.
Nick has been a Big Brother since 2014 and serves as a mentor to MBA students as part of the DeGroote Mentor Program.

Caroline Bell Ritchie is the Managing Director of Global Private Banking Relationship Management and International Trust at Scotiabank. Caroline previously held a position at Morgan Stanley where she worked in equity derivatives sales and ran the prime brokerage sales and capital introduction efforts for Canada. Prior to that Caroline worked in the institutional equities group at Goldman Sachs.
Caroline grew up in Montreal and Boston and graduated from Princeton University with a BA in Political Science and French Language and Literature. Caroline has an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Caroline lives in Toronto with her husband and three young daughters. Caroline is active in her community and is currently the President of Project Sunshine Canada, an organization that provides educational, recreational and social programs to children and families with medical challenges. Caroline is a board member of 100 Women in Hedge Funds Canada advising on educational, philanthropic and networking initiatives. Caroline speaks on an annual career panel for the Munk School of Global Affairs and is part of the leadership circle for the MMF Program at the University of Toronto.

Paul Edwards is currently a Director of Onex Partners in their large cap private equity businesses and has spent four years at the firm. Prior to joining Onex, Paul worked in the Investment Banking division of UBS in Toronto for two years.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Honours, First Class) from the Queen’s School of Business and has completed the first two levels of the CFA program.
Chris Evans is an Executive Director in the Prime Brokerage division at JPMorgan where he works on the Capital Introduction team. In his current role, Chris advises hedge fund clients on marketing and fundraising; and he covers institutional investors across Canada ranging from large pensions to family offices. In the US, he also covers bank platform and RIA platform investors. Chris’ strategy specialties include equity market neutral and quant equity. Before taking on his current coverage role at JPMorgan, he built out the research offering for the Prime business in which capacity he authored hedge fund industry research, which he also road-showed to hedge fund clients and institutional investors in the US, EMEA and APAC. His pieces have been cited by the Wall Street Journal, eFinancial News, and Dow Jones Newswire.
Prior to JPMorgan, Chris was a Vice President in the Private Funds Advisory Group at Lazard, where he advised private equity sponsors on fundraising. Before Lazard, he served as a Senior Policy Advisor at the US Department of the Treasury in Washington on the Financial Institutions team in which capacity he worked on the design and launch of a multi-billion dollar TARP-like bank fund. Before joining the Treasury Department, he practiced corporate law in New York where he lives with his wife and two children. He graduated magna cum laude from the Duke University School of Law School and summa cum laude from Bowdoin College.

Jason Gibbs joined Dynamic in 2000. He became an analyst in 2002 and portfolio manager in 2007.
He is a key member of the award-winning Equity Income team and focuses on investing in best-in-class businesses with strong balance sheets and sustainable cash flows among dividend paying equities and infrastructure companies on a global basis. In the infrastructure space, he has expertise investing in both companies that own infrastructure assets directly as well as those involved in the building or
maintenance of these types of assets.
Jason has 21 years of industry experience and, prior to joining the portfolio management team, he was a manager of fund valuation services at Dynamic for two years, a senior manager of fund valuation at Canada Trust and an auditor with Deloitte & Touche.

Christophe L’Ahelec is a Senior Principal in the Capital Markets department, at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board where he is responsible for the portfolio construction and risk management of the external manager portfolio. He is also researching generic hedge fund strategies and alternative risk premia and has conducted selection, investment due diligence and monitoring of systematic managers (equity and managed futures). On top of these responsibilities, Christophe is also in charge of the risk reporting for the Capital Markets department.
Prior to that he was a quantitative analyst and assistant portfolio manager at Mignon Genève SA/Alpstar Asset Management, in Switzerland, where he took part in the creation and portfolio management of the Alpstar Equity Quantitative Strategies Fund, a European systematic market neutral fund. Christophe started his career in the Fixed Income trading room of BNP Paribas in Hong Kong where he was responsible for the support and development of front office applications. Christophe is a graduate engineer in Finance and Applied Mathematics from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Informatique et de Mathématiques Appliquées de Grenoble, France and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Guillaume Lagourgue is Executive Director in the Equity Derivatives and the Wealth Solutions Group at CIBC World Markets, covering family offices, foundations, endowments and third party private banks. Prior to joining CIBC, Mr. Lagourgue was Executive Director and Head of Entrepreneur Advisory Solutions Group at UBS Bank Canada. There, he provided M&A advisory, capital raising and capital market solutions to companies whose founders /owners were wealth management clients of UBS. Before that, he was Vice President at a Special Situation Investment Fund focused on companies and distressed investments in the commodities and natural resources sector. Until 2009, Mr. Lagourgue spent seven years with JPMorgan in New York and Geneva in private banking and investment banking covering hedge funds and financial institutions.
Guillaume is very involved and passionate about the entrepreneur and charitable communities in Canada. He currently sits on the board of Everyday Child, a foundation that promotes education in impoverished communities around the world through the construction of learning centers. Recently, he sat on the board of directors of TAAFI, the largest animation festival in Toronto. Guillaume also mentors several entrepreneurs and early stage companies across Canada. He holds a Law degree from the University of Wales, Cardiff and a BA in Environment and Resource Management from the University of Toronto. Marc-Andre Nantais is a Vice-President in the Equities Division at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he works on the Global Equity Sales for Canadian based clients. In his current role, Marc-Andre is in charge of covering active portfolio managers ranging from large pensions, insurance companies, independent asset managers, mutual funds and hedge funds. Prior to Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Marc-Andre was an Associate in the Equity Division at Goldman Sachs, where he covered Canadian based institutional clients with Global Research. He graduated from HEC Montreal with a major in Finance and is a CFA Charterholder. He’s a board member of the Young Canadians in Finance organization, avid art and wine collector.

Drew is a Director in the Capital Markets Group (CMG) at OPTrust, a jointly-sponsored, defined benefit pension plan, focusing on FX and Fundamental Macro Strategies. Prior to his current role, worked on cross-asset strategy development, external partnerships and generating new investment areas. In 2015, was part of a small team that conducted a year-long review of internal investment strategy, structure and operations and subsequently developed and implementation of a new investment framework for the pension plan. He joined OPTrust in 2008, spending 6 years as a Portfolio Manager in the Private Markets Group, contributing to Private Equity and Infrastructure investment strategy development, transaction diligence and portfolio construction. Before joining OPTrust, Drew was with London-based BMI Research, where he held various roles within the Global and Asian investment strategy teams. Drew earned a BA (Hons) from Queen’s University and an MSc from the University of Edinburgh.

Meghan Moore is a member of Burgundy Asset Management’s Private Client Group in Toronto, where she works closely with high net worth families, non-for-profit institutions, and family offices. In her current role, Meghan works alongside a team of relationship and portfolio managers to develop investment strategies for a broad range of clients.
Meghan received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University and spent a semester abroad, studying business at Strathclyde University in Glasgow Scotland. She is also a CFA Charterholder.
Currently, Meghan volunteers at SickKids hospital both in the Ronald McDonald Family Room, and as part of the Women’s Auxiliary “Poster Express” program. In addition, Meghan currently sits on the St. Michael’s Hospital Young Leaders Board.
Marija Ojdrovic has watched Capitalize for Kids grow from its infancy phases, when she worked as a Prime Brokerage Sales and Capital Introductions analyst in Morgan Stanley’s Toronto office. She has since moved through London and New York with the firm and works as a global Capital Introductions liaison, connecting hedge fund managers in Europe and the Americas with allocators around the world. She has also held internship positions across Sales and Trading desks at TD Securities.
Marija received an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Toronto, and spent a semester studying math and finance at the Sorbonne University in Paris. Outside of the classroom, she played singles and doubles on the U of T Varsity Blues Tennis Team.
Currently based in New York, Marija volunteers as a mentor at iMentor, helping a first-generation high school student from a low-income New York school work toward a successful college education. She spends any free time traveling and doing photography.

Leopold Peavy is a member of Preqin’s ‘Commercial Team’ since 2014, focusing on the development and distribution of investor-specific products, research reports, and marketing content across all alternative asset classes. His role also includes constant interaction and collaboration with sales, research, marketing, communications, and engineering teams in order to ensure LP/investor client needs are being met, and that product developments and branding initiatives necessary to retain and grow Preqin’s investor client-base are successfully executed. Jonathan Planté is Manager of Business Development and Investor Relations at Innocap, which he joined in 2013. In addition, he currently lecturers at HEC Montréal, where he teaches hedge funds to graduate students. During his 10 years in the alternative investment industry, M. His qualifications include a graduate degree in Finance from HEC Montréal, a master degree in international business development from ESC Saint Etienne as well as the CAIA designation.

Wendy Thomas is Vice President, Regional Manager of FactSet’s Canadian office in Toronto. As Vice-President for GLC Asset Management Group Ltd. within the Laketon Investment Management division, Anthony is the lead portfolio manager for the firm’s Canadian value mandate. With more than 13 years of investment experience, Anthony has developed disciplined value-based investing expertise. Daniel is an Associate at Torys LLP in the Corporate and Capital Markets group. Daniel works with a variety of start-ups and played an integral role in structuring and launching Capitalize for Kids. He holds a JD/MBA degree from Queen’s University and recently co-founded a natural product company with its first product currently sold in over 150 stores across Canada.
Ziana Moledina is currently working at Morgan Stanley in Prime Brokerage where she is responsible for the Capital Introduction efforts for Canada. She is located in Toronto and was previously in public accounting at Deloitte. Ziana holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University, where she also completed a semester in Paris at ESSEC Business School. Ziana is an active community development volunteer and has worked closely with organizations related to the Aga Khan Development Network including the Economic Planning Board. Her interests include team sports and traveling.
