Private equity panel discussion

The second to last presentation of the conference will be a private equity panel discussion moderated by one of our emcees, Amber Kanwar. Joining Amber on this panel discussion are Shane Feeney and Sandra Bosela.

Shane is global head of secondaries at Northleaf Capital Partners—a recent addition who adds further depth to the Northleaf team and brings more than 10 years’ experience as global head of private equity at CPPIB, where he oversaw direct private equity, funds, secondaries, co-investments, and the Asia private equity teams. Shane has had a varied career, partaking as a global participant in direct investing—having cut his teeth in the London market with Morgan Grenfell Private Equity before being a partner and founding member of Hermes Fund Managers Limited’s direct private equity business. It will be interesting to hear Shane’s insights about the private markets and the opportunities available in these ever-changing markets, having just departed the largest private equity investor in Canada to join the Northleaf team.

Sandra is co-head of the private markets group and global head of private equity at OPTrust. She has more than 22 years’ experience in the private equity industry, investing in mid-market businesses in North America and globally. After joining OPTrust, Sandra began putting her mark on the portfolio as she doubled the allocation of private equity in the pension fund’s portfolio and, in particular, shifting the allocation to direct deals and co-investments. Sandra believes in giving back to her community through lending her talent to the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, Sheena’s Place and The June Callwood Centre for Young Women, in addition to sitting on the board of directors for the BDC. Sandra is a recipient of the Women’s Executive Network’s Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award for 2017 and 2020.

Purchase a ticket to hear where Sandra and Shane believe the best opportunities currently exist in the private equity space.  We’re certainly looking forward to a robust conversation among our panelists led by the always-insightful Amber Kanwar.
